BCAA's

The leucine, isoleucine and valine form the branch chain amino acids, known as BCAAs. The combination of these three amino acids forms almost the third part of the skeletal muscles and they redeem a very important role in the protein synthesis.

Leucine inside the muscular fibre is fundamental to stimulate and to regulate the processes of protein synthesis. In adition, leucine acts itself as a neurotransmitter, whose principal effect is inhibiting fatigue.

The supplementation with BCAAs is effective to improve the speed of recovery and it stimulates the synthesis of muscular proteins, its most significant benefits arrive when they are taken inmediatly to the workout and together with carbohydrates (at most, 1 hour and a half - 2 hours after the workout).

Keeping suitable glycogen levels and in long and/or intense workouts, the ingestion of BCAAs before and during the exercise (along with a drink with carbohydrates) helps to avoid the glycogen depletion.

The suplementation with BCAAs reduces the tryptophan quantity that enters the brain and, therefore, it reduces the produced serotonin quantity. This might you allow to train more intensely and during more time.

Due to its protein synthesis action, BCAAs are an important complement at the time of obtaining the tissues regeneration and their growth.
