Our pasta and rice dishes are made using Konjac (Amorphophallus konjac), a plant native to Southeast Asia. All the beneficial properties of this plant come from the root, since this part of its main component is obtained, glucomannan. From its root flour is produced and used in the production of our pasta and rice .

Glucomannan is a soluble fiber, consisting of numerous mannose and glucose molecules. This polysaccharide can absorb over 100 times their volume in water, forming a viscous gel.

The three biggest benefits of konjac glucomannan intake are:

  • Weight Control: It is the fibre with the higher water retention capacity and forms a viscous gel that provides a feeling of satiety. In addition it delays the absorption of lipids and carbohydrates and facilitates intestinal transit, preventing constipation.
  • Reducing cholesterol levels: By increasing its volume, glucomannan not only reduces the absorption and deposition of bad cholesterol (LDL), but also helps its elimination from the body, acting selectively as it has no impact on the good cholesterol (HDL).
  • Blood sugar level control : According to several studies, glucomannan can be beneficial in cases of type 2 diabetes.

    How to use

    Drain the water. Rinse 2-3 times with warm water to remove the smell of starch. Heat in an open pan for 2-3 minutes or in a microwave for 1 minute at maximum power. Add to favorite sauce, stir-fry, soup or salad. It is recommended to take 1-2 glasses of water along with the pasta / rice.
